He Qi's Master piece Made of Silk

He Qi works with a group of master-level Chinese silk weavers in a historical town near Suzhou, to create silk tapestries of his art. The origin of this embroidery technique goes back over 2,000 years and it is considered as one of the finest embroidery styles in the world. This silk tapestry consiss of very detailed representations of images hand embroidered onto fine silk with silk thread. The silk thread is dyed to match the exact colors in He Qi's art. It requires huge amount of work that it often takes a whole month for weavers to finish only ONE tapestry. Thanks to the special texture of the silk, this art will show you metallic shine under the light.
