FOREWORD OF <THE ART OF FAITH>

Art is one of the best forms to help People come to know and praise God. The Chinese believers are always pleased to use aesthetic means to share the Gospel message and "To look up at His beauty" (Psalms 27:4)
vvvGiven our historical experience and theological thought, we Chinese Christians lay great emphasis on our national artistic forms when we promote Christian art work in China. We make such emphasis so as to do away with the concept of an "imported religion" and to spread the Good News on the Chinese soil.
vvvThe faith of "incarnation" provides the premise for the indigenization of Christian art in China. Jesus as the son of God, together with his teachings, transcends the limit of space and time and is always in close touch with the real world. In areas with diverse cultural backgrounds around the world, the Holy Spirit is also working in diverse methods. People in different countries and areas may express their feelings of the Gospel and praise to God in different artistic forms which will undoubtedly enrich the sharing of the church universal.
While we promote Christian art in China, we welcome Christian artists as well as non-Christian artists who look at Christianity with interest. This is so not only because the Gospel of Christ is for all, but also because many friends are indeed coming to the Gospel truth through their interest in Christian art.
vvvFinally, I hope this album can be shared among Christians the world over as a "First Fruit" which ripened only after much hard work by artists dedicated to the development of the Chinese Christian art.
